There is an initial 28 day period when you are not covered, giving you 11 months cover in your first year, therefore the Effective Cost of Cover is £10.79 a month.

This cover meets the needs of homeowners who require insurance and expert assistance in the event of a breakdown of the gas boiler breakdown at their domestic property.

What is Effective Cost of Cover?
All policies do not normally allow new customers to claim in the first 14 or 28 days (please see individual Summary of Covers for each policy for further details). This is to prevent claims for previously known problems which in turn helps us to keep the annual cost of the policy as low as possible.
The normal price quoted is for a full year but when we take off the initial no claim period in the first year you get either 11 or 11 ½ months cover. The ECC is therefore the monthly price for the period over which you can claim. It is calculated by dividing the annual premium by either 11 or 11 ½ months based depending on the specific no claim period.
The no claim period is only applicable to the first year of cover.

You will have a contract to arrange and administer your policy with Homeserve Membership Ltd, Cable Drive, Walsall, WS2 7BN (Registered in England no. 2770612), and a separate contract for insurance with Inter Partner Assistance SA, The Quadrangle, 106-118 Station Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1PR, United Kingdom office, registered number FC008998. References to "Gas Boiler Breakdown Cover" or "Cover" in all documents include services within both contracts. Npower Northern Limited is an appointed representative of Homeserve Membership Ltd for insurance mediation activity. HomeServe is a trading name of Homeserve Membership Limited which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
